Tour de Farms 2013

This past Saturday 45+ bikers of all ages stopped by the community garden on the Tour de Farms.

Check out the article in The Herald and don't forget to look at the photo album which highlights all of the beautiful veggies the members have been growing!

Thanks to the wonderful members who come by to share our little slice of paradise with the bicyclists. And a big thank you to our friends at Growing Partners who organized this fun event!

Every year this events takes folks around to Durango to experience to beautiful gardens and farms in a celebration of local food. There are two rides: a long 25-mile ride and a short, in-town 5-mile ride.

On the long ride we visited Adobe House Farms, Alison Dance's garden (Cyprus Cafe), James Ranch, and Waterfall Village Community Garden

On the short ride we visited Josh and Katie Burford's backyard garden (Cream Bean Berry ice cream), Darrin Parmenter's backyard garden (CSU Extension), Animas Valley Farms, the Ohana Kuleana Community Garden (that's one of ours!), and First United Methodist's Giving Garden
