Needham's School Garden is planted! Thank you to all local farmers who came out and planted each garden bed with students.
We sowed seeds, transplanted baby plants, searched the garden for beneficial insects and created a garden wishing tree. Way to go students, teachers, volunteers and farmers!
The Garden Project and Needham Elementary School would like to give a spacial thanks to this year's local farmers: Max Kirks of High Pine Produce, Stacey Carlson of Twin Buttes, Shari Fitzgerald the founder of The Garden Project of Southwest Colorado, and Daniel Fullmer of Tierra Vida Farm. We love connecting local farmers with kids around food! We look forward to providing the Needham Elementary cafeteria with fresh, nutritious food straight from the garden.
Farmer Days would not be possible without our loving and dedicated volunteers! Thank you Bett Clark, Becky Turner of Zia Taqueria, Jen Mullin, Patsy Walker, Caleb Armijo, Ken Marchand, and Lori Walters.
