Arbor Day Celebration Workday

Join us next weekend, Saturday, May 2nd from 11am-1pm instead! Enjoy the rain!


Celebrate the importance of trees and the benefits of community gardens at the upcoming Arbor Day Celebration!  


Saturday, April 25th at the Ohana Kuleana Community Garden

We will honor Earth Day and Arbor Day by planting trees in the Food Forest and getting the garden ready for spring!

Projects include:

- Planting fruit trees,
               berry bushes, and
- Maintaining our swale pathways (Never heard of swales? Learn more at this event!)
- Chop and Drop the cover crop (Never heard of chop and drop? Learn more at this event!)
- Getting the tool shed ready for spring
- Planting a sunflower forest (great for kids!)

Projects for all ages and ability levels!

Lots of opportunities to learn, celebrate and work together on this great community project!

What to bring:

  • water bottle
  • sunscreen
  • close-toed shoes
  • gardening gloves

We anticipate having more helping hands than we have tools. Can you bring your own to use for the day?

Tools we need:

  • pruning shears
  • wheelbarrow
  • shovels
  • garden forks
