The Garden Project of Southwest Colorado

The Garden Project provides resources and services to schools and organizations interested in starting or enhancing a garden program. Services include program facilitation, on-site consultation, sharing tools and educational materials, and general support services.  Garden programs include building raised beds and compost bins, transplanting seedlings, mending the soil, companion planting, and the infamous "bug day." 


OUR OBJECTIVES:


  1. BulletTo promote individual and community health and wellness.  

  2. Bullet To increase education about the environment and the connection between plants, land and culture.

  3. Bullet To support a sustainable local food system in which all community members will have access to nutritional and culturally appropriate food.



 

Our Mission is to build a healthier community through the facilitation of educational and therapeutic garden programs and the promotion of a sustainable local food system.

Dig In! The 4th Homegrown Food Retreat will feature Chef and Colorado Farm-to-School Program Liaison Andrew Nowak address building a healthy local food economy on Friday Feb. 24th as well as numerous interactive workshops and demonstrations on Saturday Feb. 25th from 9-4pm.  Click here for a more detailed description of the program.
