Our second season at the Ohana Kuleana Community Garden was a success!
We shared our triumphs, frustrations, joys, and dreams at the End of Season potluck.
Here are some highlights:
We recorded a harvest of 1,500 lbs. of produce from our garden! That's a lot of tasty veggies!
Built the Education Pavilion and benches
Learned bunches at the monthly workshops including topics like Healthy Soil and Compost, Garden Harvest Cooking Class, Seed Saving, Canning, and Fermentation
Planted pear trees, raspberries, chokecherries, and more in our Food Forest
Won a Blue Ribbon at the La Plata County Fair for our beautiful veggies
Built a wheelchair accessible plot with help from Probuild and Home Depot
Planted part of the Insectary with hard work from the Riverview Elementary students
Ate lots of pie at our first open house, Pies in the Garden
Enjoyed each other's company while supporting each other through our gardening trials and tribulations
