The Garden Project recently held a garden giveaway with a grant through the Moniker Foundation. The winner was Southern Ute Peaceful Spirit in Ignacio, which provides addiction treatment services and inpatient rehabilitation.
On May 18th, members of TGP, Moniker Foundation, Paonia Soil Co and Peaceful Spirit installed the new garden, made with moveable totes. Soil was provided by Paonia Soil Company.
Thank you to everyone involved in this awesome project! The counselors at Peaceful Spirit are excited to use the garden for horticultural therapy with their patients and to grow traditional Native American food crops.
This marks The Garden Project's 22nd school or community garden in La Plata County since 1998!
June Garden update:
The beds are planted and lined with bamboo fencing!
