On Thursday June 19th Manna Soup Kitchen officially opened their new culinary arts building which will provide job training skills for the under-employed and homeless for jobs in the food industry. Watch Durango Herald video here.
During the grand opening, The Garden Project offered garden tours and tasty basil lemonade to showcase the garden.
The Garden Project is proud to be partnering with Manna Soup Kitchen in providing healthy, affordable food to members of our community in need and is excited about incorporating the vegetable garden with the culinary arts program as well as the Soup Kitchen meals and backpack program.
We would like to congratulate the wonderful staff at Manna for Governor Hickenlooper's official proclamation that June 19th shall be named "Manna Soup Kitchen Day".
